LanguaL

All foods in the on-line Czech Food Composition database have been indexed by the LanguaL Thesaurus - an automated method for describing, capturing and retrieving data about food. LanguaL indexing of foods is a mandatory procedure for compilation centres cooperating within the EuroFIR network. Search using LanguaL descriptor and codes is one of the search options in the EuroFIR eSearch facility. With a view to introducing the LanguaL Thesaurus to the community of Czech food composition database users, LanguaL descriptors were translated into the Czech language. LanguaL codes attached to foods are presented within food records in the Czech on-line food composition database. Hypertext in codes allows searching for other foods in the dataset coded with the selected code. For more informazion about the LanguaL Theasurus see its web page.
