All foods in the on-line Czech Food Composition database have been indexed by the LanguaLTM Thesaurus - an automated method for describing, capturing and retrieving data about food. LanguaLTM indexing of foods is a mandatory procedure for compilation centers cooperating within the EuroFIR network.

With a view to introducing the LanguaLTM Thesaurus to the community of Czech food composition database users, LanguaLTM descriptors were translated into the Czech language.

LanguaLTM codes attached to foods are presented within food records in the Czech on-line food composition database. A full list of descriptors attached to a selected food is accessible by clicking on the notice “Display attached descriptors”. 

Hypertext in descriptors and codes enables searching for other foods coded with the selected descriptor/code in the dataset.
